The corpse of Glyndwr Michael dressed as the fictional Major William Martin RM for Operation Mincemeat. The Welsh tramp’s body was sent ashore at the Spanish coast in possession of false documents as a means of deceiving the Nazis on the Allied plans to invade Sicily in 1943.
